Flat Black headlights on a silver balt Before and After

Here are some before and after pix of the flat black headlights assemblys. Let me know what u think. Also I went to install the driverside headlight and the reflector piece fell off so I had to rip apart the whole headlight assembly SUPER GLUE it BACK in and then reseal the whole thing.. PITA Then I get them all installed, start my car up and the passengers side light isnt working(nothing is working) so I take the headlight out and I never plugged the harness back together!. So I take it to go align the beams and the passengers side headlight starts to fog over(not bad, just a little considering its 15 degress outside) so I had to rip that apart and reseal it with LOTS of sealent. So here are some final pix until the sun comes up and get some good pix.

Before

During

After

Let me know what u think

I love it! I need to pull the tint stuff off mine and paint the insides as well. I would like to gain some nightime visibility back! Nice work!

thanks guys, I have to admit flat black lights on a silver balt looks sick. Along with a silver bow-tie. Mine isnt painted, I put some aluminum duck working tape on which gives it a brushed metal effect and left the chrome around the outside.

Saunders1986 u have a PM

Dude can you take some daylight pics tomorrow and post them!!
You did this using the how-to on the site? Was it pretty easy - run into any problems?
Also, what made you decide NOT to pop out that amber insert? Looks good with it in there, just wondering.

It took me about 6 hours start to finish, but I did not use rattlecan paint. Since I manage a collision center I used the real stuff which took about 2 hours to dry. Sorry to hi-jakc your thread.

^^ Yeah your work looks good. I personally will likely let a professional shop do mine as I do not trust myself with paint of any type.
That's vinyl on your grill, yes?

No. My grille is painted with a flat black. No vinyl decals here. Check out the rest of my gallery and notice that I undercoated my car to protect it from rust. I highly suggest that everybody get this done if they plan on keeping there car for a long time.

If I get a chance I will take some pix tomorrow during the daylight because they look SICK!

Yes I used the how-to on the site but I changed it a little bit. It was very easy, just had to be patient and make sure it was super HOT! I used a hair dryer and kept that on their the whole time while I was prying it apart. Then I ran some new silicone in the groove, heated up the lens and everything to the point where I couldnt touch it and it cut into the silicone like a hot knife through butter and sealed up great. Also I used super glue to hold the orange lens/ reflectors in place because I had a problem with one not wanting to stay in and kept falling out.

I didnt pop out the amber insert because I felt it was just too much chrome, I really like the black look. Looks sooo sexy!

Cross ur fingers for pix tomorrow!

KENHEBE GET OUT of my thread and stop HIJACKING IT! My thread has to do with HEADLIGHTS NOT GRILLS!
