the stock GM lips .... there already attached and fit into slots cut in the bumber cover. So if your not already a SC or TC then cut of tabs and use two sided tape.

I'm not doing it cheap. I'm doing it the right way and having it professionally installed.

Bump.

Bump.

Double sided tape won't hold up the way the factory clips do. There's a how to on here for installing the lips, it tells you how many clips you need for the front and rear lips.

I think it's 12 for the front and 14 clips for the back. Yeah and don't use double sided tape

or just go to GM parts direct and it'll tell ya how many clips

Why not? Bumpers are exactly the same. SS/SC bumper is 2.4 bumper + lip. Or rather, since the SC was out first, the 2.4 bumper is the SS/SC bumper sans the lip.

because its not gonna work. you need the ls/lt bumper. the 2.4 ss has the weird black half lip or whateve ryou want to call it. thats gonna get in the way if i'm not mistake...

in your diagram there, the ls bumpers will use steps 1-13, the ss/sc will use 1-17. the 2.4 is a whole different bumper

No you're mistaken. The 2.2L bumper is the one that doesn't fit the SS/SC rear lip. The 2.4L and 2.0L bumpers are the same.

Even if that was the case, it wouldn't matter because I have a brand new 2.2L bumper sitting in my garage that someone local gave to me for free.

then why doesn't the 2.4 bumper have slits in them for a lip?? they aren't gonna fill those for every bumper that goes on a 2.4 and not a 2.0. the 2.4 is a seperate bumper for the rear. the ls and ss/sc are the same, the only difference is slits will be cut in for the ones going on a 2.0 and then the lip will be installed.

The have slits. They just need to be cut. If you've ever seen the inside of a 2.4L bumper you'll see the little boxes for the slits to be cut out. LS and SS/SC are not the same. One is elongated.

You said you need to cut the stock bumper for a sedan. Please make a how-to on fitting a rear lip on a sedan!

Are the clips for the front lip universal for the rear as well? If not, then can someone point out which number is the clip for the rear lip?

Bump.

The clips are the same for front and rear, you just need a lot of them.

Its not doing it cheap.... thats what body shop 2 sided tape is for. You don't think the big three never use two sided tape to hold on body trim amd small body panels, hahahhahahha your sadly mistaken. If your having it professionally done then I mis understood. I ASSUMEd you where thinking of doing it yourself. My bad. I was trying to save ya the hassle of trying to cut the sloys yourself and ruining your car and or paint job.
OBTW... it WOULD hold it no problem and would pull your paint off before falling off. Those two pieces weight nothing.

Rear lip going on the 2.4 bumper. Look at any 2.0 and you'll see its the 2.4 bumper with the lip attached.
