G5 Grill Swap?

I've searched and havent found anything on the forums, so I decided to post.

Does anyone know if the G5 front upper grill will fit the cobalt with a little modification? Get rid of the pontiac emblem, maybe use a dremel on a few areas, a little fiberglass to make it look good and paint it up. Or can it bolt directly in? I like the front grill for the G5's over the cobalt front grill.

the g5 grill is a 2 piece unit .One being the painted front and two being the plastic in the back that attaches to the cars frame, just like the cobalt. Now the 2 pieces from gm are like 300.00 canadian if I remember. There is another route for you to take also, you can buy just the front painted piece which is like 100.00 canadian and just make your own mesh inserts. The second way I think is best cause there is only the labour of swapping the two front painted pieces

I think I might try this. Havent heard of anyone else thinking of it, so I think it'd be fun, not to mention I get a hot grill. just take off the pontiac emblem. does that bolt on or is it on with 3m tape?

I thought about that too, but I never really followed up on how to go about doing it. When you figure it out let me know. I've been wanting to do something with my grill i hat the black plastic slats that are in there. I wanted to put mesh in there to begin with but I really don't know how, and the how to really didn't help me.

here is something you can do,just buy the painted front piece and make your own mesh grill inserts,it will save you 2 bills and it will look better than the stock plastic pieces

The problem with that is that i never worked with the mesh ever, and i don't know if my fabrication skills are good enough to do it. I don't wan go and buy the mesh and screw it up and just toss it... if i waned to waste money i might as well just staple the money it cost to do it to the plastic grill...
