Gen 1 little black box

I have a set of Gen 1's and the LEDs don't have any voltage going to them, even when I wire it straight to the battery. I'm thinking that there's something wrong with the little black box attached to the wiring. Does anyone know if I can either replace, fix, or bypass it?

Sounds a bit odd, perhaps a picture would help. Does the black box have 4 poles on it?

I wanna say they need to be connected to something and those don't look to be connected.

No idea what that is. Mine didn't have that box. Should be able to just hook up the LEDs to 12v power, maybe in series though. Depends on how they did them.

so right now all white wires from each LED are spliced into one wire going into the black box. Should I just take the one wire and attach it to a 12V source or take each individually and put them to a 12V source? I'm assuming the one wire, but i just wanna make sure.

The Halo's in the Gen 1 are just LED's. That black Box has a resistor in it, the lights will work fine without it, but the Halo's wont.

I cut that black box out, wired in a 12V resistor in its place, replaced the LEDS in the halo's with larger blue ones and it looked fantastic
