Gen 4 plus hids problems

i just installed depo gen 4 projectors in my car with 6k hids. My problem is that my lights are tempormental. They sometimes come on and sometimes not what could be the problem? I checked all the lights and connectors and ballast. Nothing is wet or incorrectly installed.

If you manually turn them on with the switch on the turn signal indicator beside your steering wheel do they turn on everytime? Do you have a relay harnes?
My first guess is they won't fire when it's daytime because the daytime running lights run at a lower voltage which can cause flickering or just no lights turning on. If you don have a relay harness I would reccomend you pull your drl fuse or you will burn out your ballasts from not operating at the correct voltage during the day. They will just need to be manually turned on during the day if you do this.

There's you're problem. That's why you get a relay harness to begin with.

Check your your Hid Leads and see if they can be reversed... I dont see why this would be a problem if they turn on some of the time... because they shouldnt work at all if they are backwords.. worth a try.

change the polarity of the plug going into the ballast even if it looks like if you flip it it wont fit right.

Make sure your ground is totally clean and isnt to the painted surface. For my hids I use a factory ground on the driver side and the motor mount of the pass side. Sounds like a ground or power issue to me. Post pics of how you have everything wired and plugged in. Will be helpful that way.

So is it alright to run HIDs in my gen 4s as drls or should I pull the fuse?

Edit: with a relay harness that is.

Haha okay, I suppose I can. Still gotta install those HIDs i bought from you during your Black Friday sale. So it's because the lower voltage for the DRLs can damage things?

So what does everyone usually run as their drls then? Or do ya roll stealth mode?
