Random thought since everyone is bashing the lenses on aftermarket projectors, what if you just swapped lenses with an OEM lens via bake method? I like the simplicity and look of 4th gen, but if mine start the fade/peel/crack fail, I may attempt this. Why not? No loss, and much room for gain.

I was told by murkley(SP?) from buyhids that it is possible, But Im not sure if all swap.
I attempted to save my 3rds by swapping lens with a 2nd gen? (I don't remember it was a long time ago), But the arch of the lens was different(where the lens met the housing) So I abandon the project from there.

I haven't had time to really contrast and compare my oem to the 4th gen lens seeing nothing is wrong at this point, I'm guessing it's possible with some finesse and patience. Had some gen 1's in possession and just by looking at it, the lens wasn't quite right compared to the oem shape. The real issue is whether the company designed the thing around specific oem design measurement or rough oem and made everything fit and look almost, but not quite oem spec. Still something to consider as a last resort if you're die-hard aftermarket projector lover. All plastics degrade over time though, just some faster than others.

Switch the lenses from your stock headlights. Now there is no argument that 4th gens are the best. (minus retros)
