got an idea what you all think?
I've got a laser blue metallic ss/sc. Im currently painting my rear bumper grills silver. And I was just wanting to know if anyone has done this? Also what do you guys think about the idea? They are drying right now lol. I just want some feedback, I will post pics as soon as they are dry and installed.
The problem with the stock black plastic is that it fades (and is easy to get wax residue on). I find that the paint makes it WAY easier to deal with and clean. My ex-boyfriend did my rear inserts and front grill the first time, then I decided that the silver was just TOO MUCH contrast with the blue, so that's when I went shopping for the gunmetal paint.
Well looks like ima be driving around tonight with no rear bumper grills lol. There is no way these things are going to be dry b4 I leave for work so ima let them sit out all night and dry. Plus its not very sunny here so its taking forever to dry
I did put one on tho cuz it was decently dried off and looked good. I didn't get a pic. I've got a feeling its going to look real good when installed tomorrow.

IMHO, anything you do to attract attention to the rear bumper grills is a BAD IDEA.
Chevy could have at least made an attempt to make each side look ok, but instead, the drivers side looks like crap and the passenger side looks alright.
But, I'm a bit of a Function > Form guy, so sue me.

I'll see if I can find a pic of them where it's NOT overcast. The silver looks brighter against the LBM because it's a darker blue/purple so there's more contrast. That's probably why you said yours looks a bit lighter than mine before. The silver was more subtle on arrival, but still stood out too much on the back for me.
I have done this, a year and a half ago, just after i got my car. I used Duplicolour chrome, and its held up well, but will need to be redone in a year or so.
It keeps me happy until i get the time to make custom billet ones.
