Got tired of my chipping wheel paint!! PICS!!

Decided I wanted to go back to black wheels like on my mustang! Figured I'd get some new tires too, I ordered some Kumho Ecsta ASX's. Got a good price and the have a 420 tread wear, I figured they's last a while! It's a Metallic Black, but it was cloudy and you can't really see the metallic in the pics!! I painted them with PPG paint and clear coated them. I'm probably, eventually, gonna strip them down again and powder coat them. The paint is a little messy! Anyway here's some more pics of the process, let me know what you guys think!! Click the pics for the large pics! After we stripped them down!

Sealed!
Painted and cleared, you can see the metallic in this pic!
On the car!
Rear side view!
That's my mustang, I'm kinda partial to the red on black!!
Anyway, just wanted to show it off!

Thanks guys, and no I don't have any pics of the chips. But I bought the car used and the other guy apparently didn't konw how to dodge a curb. Every wheel had some rash and some paint chips! I like all black wheels, but equally enjoy the polished lips. But as you can tell from my mustang in the background I like all black wheels! Thanks again guys!

I used PPG, car paint. I had it mixed at my local CarQuest. If you clear coat it well it won't chip as easily, but I wouldn't TEST it, I've yet to even go down a gravel road. I live in the country so there is alot of them.

OK guys, to strip my wheels I used "Strypeeze" and a wire brush bit for a drill. After I got almost all the paint off with the drill, I went back over it with a Steel SOS pad. My dad, who's a trucker, told me he knows of some stuff that I could use to completely polish those wheels out. They use it on the 18 wheelers. It takes a while, but it's worth it. I let the Strypeeze sit on the wheels for like 45 mins. It works pretty good to break up a majority of the paint. And no, I used a paint gun on the wheels and spray paint on the headlights and bow ties! Talk to you later guys!

When you stripped the wheels did you have to grind out any scratches or did you just paint over them? i want to paint my stocks black but don't want to pay the 135 it cost around here to get them done professionally cuz i knicked a curb or two with them

The wire brush I used didn't scratch into the metal. And where the original curbs were, I had to brush real well, and if you look close u can see the curb still. I tried to kind smooth the curbs out the best I could, but once I put two coats of paint and two coats of clear it's really not noticeable! Thanks guys!
