Halo Projectors : reliability?

So a guy from the site that I met up with this Sunday was questioning the reliability of the halo projector headlights from Ebay. I did a search and only came up with threads of people posting pics of theirs installed and one wiring problem.

I guess my question is how do they hold up? I mean they are kinda cheap, is this going to be a case of having nice looking lights for the whole 4 months they work? Anyone had any negative issues with them, moisture at all? Seriously considering buying them in November when I am buying everyone else their xmas gifts (gotta get myself SOMETHING ) but obviously if they are not worth the money I would rather do something else.

If any of you have had positive experiences with them can you post and let me know please? And not the whole "they look awesome!" thing cause I know they do I am looking for people who have had them installed for 4 to 6 months or longer who can say whether they hold their own or not.

Last thing I want is 300 worth of plastic and light bulbs that will be a door stopper in a couple months.

+rep to those who can testify one way or another!

I bought a pair off of ebay and I just took mine off last night after about 8-9months of having them installed. They stood up well to weather conditions, no moisture or any negative performance, but there were some imperfections in the overall quality. Inside the actually housing looked like it was done well, just not great.

I had the Silverstar halogens that I was replacing every 3 or so months. $20 for a replacement bulb isn't bad I guess, but replacing it every 3 months kinda sucked. But the replacing of bulbs I believe were really only related to the Silverstars. Others might have had different experiences.

Hope this helps.

For what its worth, I have the factory headlights in and I think they look just as good. If you are looking for a way to dress up the headlight, maybe some eyelids of paint the housing like some others. If I actually had the time and patience I would probably go that route.

My passenger side shorted out on the Halos after 10 months or more. And the visibility was abominable. May as well have flashlights ducktaped to your hood. They looked great though, so I kept them on in my vanity......squinting everywhere I went.

i think as long as your not going to mod the angel eye color and basically keep them stock, you should have no problems. ive had mine for almost a year now and after i figured out what was wrong with them, they work great but just like someone else said, the lighting performance is horrible. sooo if you do get the projectors, get some hid's. well worth it.

My only complaint is that I get moisture in the top of my projectors, like where the LEDs are. I resealed them before I even installed them so Im trying to figure out how the moisture is getting in there. Other than that I love my projectors, just get an HID kit, makes everything so much easier to see

Ok so it is starting to sound like a crap shoot here. I am getting PM's from people saying they are reliable and last and responses here saying you get moisture and they burn out LED bulbs.

Hmmmmm. If I do get them chances are I will only be using them through the spring through late fall season. I REALLY like how they look on a black balt though, more so than the eye lids or painting the housing black on the stock lights. Wish they lasted a bit more though, not sure if I want to be replacing LED bulbs every month or so.

Thanks everyone, I rep'd everyone who posted info.

If you like them I would say get them. I read a lot of posts on here before I got mine and decided not to hook up the halo's or LEDs cause they burn out so quick. I still really like how mine look and since I have an HID kit, there is a better light output than the stock housing and I have a high beam again, which is very very nice.
