I just installed my Gen 3 projectors with 8k HID's and my halos are a very dim white/grey color. I checked the how to on replacing the LED's in the halso and am curious as to whether or not that would fix the problem? Also, if replacing the LED is the answer, I dont have the ability to replace them immediately, is there a way to disconnect them? Thanks for all the help.

 

Swap to ccfl halos u won't regret

 

there's nothing wrong with them, LED halos are just dim. Only way to disconnect them is to cut the wires.

 

Thanks for the info. Is it normal for the hids to flicker without shutting off completely. Its almost like they are pulsing.

 

You need a relay harness for your HID's, either that or turn your music down

 

Get a relay harness and that will solve your flicker issue.

 

Well, ive got a relay harness and my radio off and they are stll flickering. Any other reasons it would happen to both lights at the same time???

 

My guess would be a bad ground. Possibly the ballast but idk. I would check all your connections. Best ground IMO is the fender bolts.

 

Ive grounded it to the two bolts at the front of the engine bay, the ones on the front quarter panel. The relay harness had a circular clasp that wouldn fit over the positive terminal under the hood, i had cut to it open, do you think that would cause the problem? Thanks again.

 

It is possible if the post isn't tightened down enough, but I had to do the same thing you did and I never had a problem. It could be an issue with the kit itself, but it's hard to say really, it's odd that it would be on both sides if it was the kit.
