help me out guys

i painted my headlights a couple weeks ago and i think they turned out great! i do have one problem though, my driver side light fogs up like crazy...

i can't even tell you how many times i've taken it out and applied more sealant but it still fogs along the bottom and it's really beginning to tick me off. infact it's sitting on the kitchen table right now waiting for yet another coat of sealant to settle and dry. if that new coat doesn't work, how can i stop the fogging? i did the driver and passenger side lights the exact same way and so far no major problems with the passenger side. it'll fog in the bottom corner a tiny bit but nothing worth worrying about, at least not right now. i've talked to my uncle about this [he's into restoring cars] and he said that i would have to take it apart and reseal it again, which i'm really trying to avoid. i know a few members here have had the leaking problem, how did you stop it? do i really have to take it apart again? thanks for any help, i'd really appreciate it!!

i had the same problem. had to take them apart and reseal them. but i did 2 layers. one layer for the initial seal and then after i put everything back together i put another bead of sealant along the crease and then ran my finger around the whole thing to make a real nice seal. they haven't leaked on me since then.

I did the same and no leaks out of mine. They have been on for plenty of rain storms and car whashes to.

hmm, not sure about the trapped moisture. i painted the chrome inserts from a second set of lights so they sat around for quite a few days before i had to tear my stock set apart. the lenses on my back-up set didn't match [one was tinted] so i had no choice but to tear my other set apart and use those lenses. that was the whole reason for buying a back-up set, i didn't want to worry about fog

trapped moisture.....take them apart....let them sit out...then reseal them...if need be...take both apart...heat the painted parts in the oven at like 200 for about 10minutes...while that is happening...get some non abrasive cleaner and wipe the lens caps over (let the painted parts cool if you decided to heat bake them) ....then reseal everything carefully....
