HID Temp Poll

I'm getting HIDs for my projectors as soon as I can decide what temp to get. I'll post a pic of my projectors below. What do you guys have and do you like them? What would you recommend I get? Thanks Guys/Gals!

Props for getting projectors.

If you want the best light output, go with either 4300K or 6000K.

BTW... read this for more info on HID and light output;

I do 99% city driving so the roads are pretty well lit at night. As long as it puts out as much as stock, its good enough for me.

Could I see some pics of how each temp HID look in projectors? Please...

Get 4300K or 5000K. they will give you the most light output with the least eyestrain. The problem with higher color temperature kits is that although the light output decreases the blue voilet side of the color spectrum is majorly irritating to the eyes of not only the driver, but the other motorists. The blue HIDs look very bright because high energy blue and voilet light diffuses in the atmosphere to a much greater extent than yellow red and green light. This causes not only poor visability but annoying glare for the other drivers.

My 6k's are almost completely white, there is just a tiny hint of blue.. Really lights the road well at night.. unfortunately it gets faded out by ugly yellow-orange street lights

I had 8,000K on my old Cobalt, & I loved the way it looked! I can't imagine the visibility being "that much better" with 6,000K.

I am getting 5000K 50W for my lows and my fogs from 3bspec soon I hope. They are out of 50W ballasts right now.

There is a slight difference between them. 4300K is the color of sunlight an hour before sunset. It has a liitle more yellow to it than 5000K.Sunlight at noon is 5000-5700K more of a pure white color. 4300K is definately a lot whiter than a typical halogen bulb 3100-3300K.

Depends how old the bulb is.
HID's will get more 'blue' as they age. A 4300 will look white-yellow (lets call it off-white) when it's new, and gradually get whiter with a hint of blue.
5000K's will start as white, and age to look like a new set of 6000's.

6000k you still get the blueish look but will be able to see better then 10k dark blue they have less light output then the 6000k. I had the same problem deciding between the two and that is what I came up with :

It also depends on the output of the ballasts. A 6000K with a 50W ballast will look the same color as a 5000K with a 35W ballast. A 5000K with a 50W ballast will look more the color of a 4000K with a 35W ballast and so on.

How would I go about getting a 5000K bulb? I want to run 35W ballests. I ruled out 10000k. I'm leaning more to the 6000K - 8000K range. I like the "blueish" color.

Has anybody heard of the "Lumenez" Brand : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=360090118129

The 3Bspec stuff is all Shipped to you overnight. His kits come with a 1 year warranty on parts and are very high quality kits that come with a relay harness so you don't burn up your stock wiring.

I have two of his kits. Both are 5,000k. one for the fog lights, and one kit for the 3rd gen projectors i'm running. 3Bspec is local to me and if Operatic would get on the boards here he will tell you i have the most OEM looking aftermarket HID/Projector set-ups he's ever seen. The light out put and cut off line is excellent with the 3rd gen headlights.

I did some research. 3Bspec sounds like a good company. Plus they are a vendor and help support this site.

This is getting me pretty excited. I want to order by tomorrow so I can get the kit by Friday. I'm either going with 6000K or 8000K. Can I see more 6000K vs. 8000K pics PLEASE??
