HID Temp Poll
Well... it wont perform anywhere NEAR close to a real HID retrofitted lens. The cars that have them from the factory are 4300K in color. The housing makes them change from a yellow to white to blue to purple. No HID kit can have that effect
i think i know that the projector is what makes most HID cars have the nice effect....but my 8k kit is barely barely blue....ill go take pics if you would like....also i have a dedicated lowbeam housing seperate from my highs so very little glare for me....
as long as you have a projector youre fine. I had an 8k kit in my eclipse and it looked good but couldnt see ****. When i swapped them with 4300k kit, HUGE difference, The lines were crisp and I could see further. I am almost positive every HID car manufacture company uses 4300K output bulbs, it is the highest you can go before you loose visibility
what you arent understanding is that the K ratings from company to company slightly differ....8k from one company can be almost blue then the next almost white....
now i believe that either Hella or Phillips makes all manufacturer HID's so they will be consistent but once you go into the aftermarket its off...

I had 8k and 6k
i liked my 8k, they are a nice bright blue
now i have 6k, and it is a bright white, which naturally has a bluish look
light output is MUCH better with 6k, that alone should steer your decision

depends on ballast watt 55w give you a brighter light but lighter color blue (you lose 1000k of color with 55w) where a 35w ballast give you the normal color but not as bright as 55w.
