Horn Replacement

dunno if this is the right section:


Wow...this horn has got to go..anyone seen replacement horns and a how-to? man this thing is a joke..lol, sounds like a kids bike horn. i need something deeper, but not 18-wheeler loud..

Yeah I didn't change mine, but added the low note. Most beefy horns like the ones on the tahoes have a high and low. We got screwed with only a high. So I bought the matching low note, spliced it in, and uped the amperage on the fuse from a 10 to a 15. Works great sounds awesome. And only takes about fifteen minutes to do.

This is something I deff. wanna do, but don't want tha General Lee's Dukes of Hazard sound. How hard was this to? Any ref's/guides ya can point me to?

X3 The low note horn is like $5o, but is it a two or three wire splice and are they the same colors (I.E- Idiot proof?)

Got any sound clips. Im interested in hearing what it sounds like with the low tone added

You want something like mine?



Pep boys airhorn... I removed the stocker and spliced the compressor in. Tucked it up under the radiator support. Mounted the trumpet where the airbox on the 2.2/2.4 goes.

It's kinda high pitched... but boy is it loud... it'll clear traffic really well.
