How big of a difference?

I was wondering how big of a difference there is in visibility between HID's and stock lights with Halogen light bulbs, I do a fair amount of night driving and I'm getting tired of not being able to see anything... I know the halo setup looks better, but right now I'm just worried about visibility/safety. Is there enough of a difference with HID over halogen that it's worth the extra time/money?

EDIT:I'm not planning on putting HIDs in stock housings I'm trying to prevent accidents not cause them... just wondering how big of a difference is there by getting rid of stock and putting in halos with hids compared to just halogens in stock?

20000k is not bright at all...anything above 6000k really isn't a good idea for visibility.

If you have projectors, yes, get some HIDs. If you have standard housings, please spare the rest of the drivers on the road and don't.

normal OEM Halogens produce around 1000 lumens of light.

4.3k HID kit can produce up to 3200 lumens.
6k about 2500
8k about 1500
10k about the same as a good halogen.

beyond that you wasted your money and should have used your little sisters cellophane paper over the headlights

and dont put them in your stock headlights

Visibility with 6000k is amazing, 4300k would be even better but I wanted the blueish tinge. Either way I can see so much more at night.

the highs on the ebay projectors are impressive.
absolute overkill to put HIDs in them.

you will most definatley be impressed with HIDs in the lows though.

i switched from 12 ks to 8 ks.....i can tell the difference in light output...but the colour seems so much more crystal white now instead of blueish purple.

argh, why not have both?....

When you get these halos, it does take away your daytime running lights but not the autolight function correct?

All right so I'm sold on the halo's, so now where's the best place to get them? I've been looking on ebay and they're pretty much all the same/same price, I've got a black balt and would be wanting to get the ones with black housings... suggestions?
I kinda like the look of these: link
