How to do a DRL change in an 07
How to do a DRL change in an 07
So I have an 07 G5 and the DRL's are my high beams and half power and i got 1st gen projectors and when i put my HID's in... they ended up being my DRL's and not the high beams at low power.
Thats not the issue... i want to change my DRL's to the park lights like on the 06 and previous
Anyone know how i could do that?

We dont need no stinkin DRL's just pull the freaking fuse LOL. J/K. You might be able to do this by finding out what wires control DRL and reroute them, or spice them into the parking lamps, Thats where I'd start. Get a wiring diagram and see where those wires go.

Got a feeling the drl's are controlled by the body control module. A shop with a tech2 tool may be able to "reprogram" the drl's to the park lights but not sure on that.
As far as the drl's being the high beams on reduced voltage, I wonder about that. The beam pattern against the wall looks like the low beams on mine....yet the manual (and pretty much every gm I've seen with drl's) say's it's the high beams at reduced voltage?
Hmmm, time to poke around with the multi meter, want to try something with the ^$%^$% auto headlights anyways

Your DRLs on your 07+ are actually the low beams, and you will burn your HIDs out wayyy prematurely if you do not pull the DRL fuse located in the underhood fuse box. Or reroute them, but pulling the fuse is way easy. Flip the fuse box cover over to see a diagram of the fuses (if you don't want to look in the manual).
hey thanks all you guys for the input. yeah i did pull the DRL for now but i want the blinker and the halos to be on during the day sometime in the future when i switch the halos for CCFL ones but i would have no idea how... hmm
if i figure something out i'll definitely let you guys know

seeing as how it is reduced voltage, i think you SOL. unless it can be programmes. it probably doesnt ghave a seperate wiring setup because its your high beams at reduced voltage. good luck. if i can figure it out ill let ya know
