how do you tint your tailights in the coupe?

how do you tint your tailights in the coupe?

i was wondering if someone can post a how to in here with pictures, thanks, im not very good at using paint but i may give it a try if it is easy enough

they have stuff out there that is spray tint that is very easy to use. just remove the tail light from the car and mask off the places that you dont want to be coated and do thin layers at a time and let dry each time to see how dark you want it and it should come with a clear coat to put on too on thin layers so you dont get it too shiny



ohhh or you can do what the srt-4 guys started and use panty hose

ok, also do you think a tinti shop could do this and what kind of price would they charge

probably just paint it with the tinted spray to be safe or wait for someone to make aftermarket taillights

sorry about that, anyway so just like 3 or 4 coats of night shades then a special clear coat, im just hesitant to do it since im afraid of the paint running and making it look horrible

ok ill give it a few more months for some nice black aftermarket lights to come out if not then i may try this

I did it on my sedan. Ddint use any cler coat just nightshadez. Will post pics at some point :P

The tint probably wouldnt weather too well . A body shop probably wouldnt charge you a whole lot to spray tinted clearcoat on them . That would be more durable than a spraycan clear because they could add hardeners to the clear like they do normal paint . In turn , that would also be less suseptable to fine scratches from washing and nicks and stuff . The January 2006 Super Chevy magazine did a tech article on that . They did taillights from a Camaro with tinted clear thru a gun . It turned out REALLY good .
