your turn signal would be on the inside. and yes all four lights would light up during braking.

 

so if other methods were requested what would have to be done for wiring.

is there any way to make the inners and outers runnong and brake?
than both inner and outers for turn signal for the correspinding signal?

 

yeah that' a possibility but then you're getting into some serious wiring, using relays or load resistors in the line. which is generally best avoided.

Meh... not if you do it properly and don't use the cheapest relays you can find. Relays will last you a lonnnng time, the ones under my hood are still clicking away after thousands of cycles.

 

Ha very good point acey, btw if you don't mind, what relays are you using? I've been trying to do some research on relays, making sure not to get electromech ones, as those require a load resistance. I've seen a few on superbrightleds.com, but nothin that really strikes my fancy.

Just got my eBay LED tail installed and tinted. (These: 2005-2010 COBALT 2DR COUPE LED SMOKE TAIL LIGHTS LAMPS - eBay (item 290545656280 end time Mar-22-11 19:00:22 PDT)

Now I will be dismanteling my stockers and attempting to do this. I'll start with the inners and see how they look side by side with my eBay tails. If that doesn't look how I want I'll tear apart my stock outers and do those as well.

 

Yeah Ill need your stockers to do this as I don't have any extra sets of lights except for one set of inners that's in dyer need of nightshades.

 

I don't remember what brand they are, I just went down to an auto store and picked up a handful of Bosch 40 amp relays. That was a few years ago, and they've been good since then.

I am now wired like the R35 I posted in reply #117. I'll get a vid when it's not snowing. I'm also waiting for my good LED's to get here in the mail for my centre brake light... for now I just have a bunch of LED strips shoved in there that are no brighter than stock, but at least they light up at the same time as the inners.

 

acey don't you love having them wired that way! ha ha. I'm pumped about how mine came out. I'm thinking about even adding another smaller ring inside the outter tail light and goin nuts with that.

 

alright guys, I've since changed my design and will have updates asap. I also have a wiring diagram that will also surely work with the setup. I have also simplified the diagram written by the first led tail light mod thread.

ok ladies and gents. here's new pics, the reason I decided to change mine from four individual lights is because I got pulled over with my inner tails as running lights because my tint is too dark on my tails.




^^^^this is a video if you click on it, shows that the lights blink normal now! no hyper flash.
this is just kinda what they look like. the wiring is a pain in the ass but now I've got it mastered!

cobaltsst/c you'r lights will be one ring on inner tails, one ring on outter. I'll make sure to get you a wiring diagram too for when you get the lights back. worst case scenario I can snag the other parts needed and wire it up so you just plug things in and send it back when I send back the other set of tails coming my way from you.
