No, but sometimes getting a proper reseal can be difficult.

no its easy to do the only hard part is getting the old glue out

Why do people bother peeling all the old silicon out? Just toss them back in the oven for about 15min when you're ready to put them back together, add some of your own silicone when you pull them out and seal them back up. Let them cool off, and then run another bead around the outside just to be safe.
