Ah okay. Still though, I'd get LED's. THe guy above you posted more proof. And I'm sure there are ones with different quality. I';m sure you can get really good, bright ones.
ryan.
I got leds and my buddy's got neons and mine are way brighter and they are a lot stronger in case something hits them. I only paid $85 for mine. If you wanna check em out check my garage.

LED's are more durable, but reputable neons are brighter, and have 360 degrees of light, which means better light output.
LED's don't shine at a very wide angle, like a flashlight. But they're more durable than Neons. Also, LED's are prone to having light uniformity issues.
Neon's shine in every direction and have a perfect output uniformity. Also they put out much more light.
I used to have neons, and switched to LED's. The neon's looked way better IMO.
If you decide to go with neons, get the Streetglow Gold Series.

I would have to agree with you, I like the uniform glow from neon as apposed to the mag-light effects of LED. Also, I would have to agree with using a reputable brand. I used an APC neon kit and it stopped working within 2 months (I got an APC kit from AutoZone since I knew they'd have it and had it slapped on at the dealer the night before a car show--never really used it on the street since around here, red or blue are illegal)
ryan. they come with lexan high impact plastic tubing for the neons im sure the leds are the same thing.
some LED's are brighter than others. theres a bright LED, then it goes to super bright LED, then up to Ultra bright LED.
It all depends on what kind you get just like the Neons. although the Neon does have the 360 degree advantage.
I'm going with LED just because of how little it takes to power and how long they last
