Overall i'm pleased with the results. The swirl x wasn't aggressive enough to remove some of the swirl marks though. Pictures don't do it justice. The paint sealant left a super glossy/slick finish, which I think will do well this winter.

Looks great but you really need some tire shine on there...blacked out wheels with no tire shine doesn't flow too well IMO.

Yup, you guys caught me without the tire black... Didn't have any on hand. Was thinking about picking up some black headlights this winter, and was gonna do some window tint in the spring.

My experience, the ultimate polish works way better than swirl x. I had used ultimate polish on a white car and was very pleased with the results so I purchased swirl x to try on a dark blue car to compare with the ultimate polish. And while the swirl x helped a little it wasnt nearly the results you can obtain with the polish. I understand this could be due to swirlx being slightly less aggressive, so just have to gauge by how bad the car is. But i dont think the polish is nearly aggressive enough that it would be taking it a step too far to start with it.

On a side note the wolfgang paintwork polish enhancer works great as well. That along with the paint sealant 3.0 you used are the two i use on my own yellow cobalt, after clay baring it. I also compared the wolfgang polish with the meguiars on my cobalt and found the wolfgang to give the paint slightly more pop to its color, and i figured it best to keep like products together to chemically bond. But if you dont feel like spending the extra money for the wolfgang then you certainly cant go wrong with the meguiars ultimate polish, as thats what i use on my other cars that i top with carnauba wax, but on the daily i wanted to go with a synthetic wax that would last longer under everyday weather conditions.

Yea, I wanted to try the least aggressive polish first, before going to something more aggressive. Next year I was gonna try the ultimate compound on the more troubled areas. Do you know who that stuff compares to the ultimate polish?

Never tried any wolfgang products before, but after using that sealant I'm sold on them. $40 for the sealant is kinda pricey, but i barely broke into the bottle using 2 coats. I'll have to check out their polish next time.

Yes the ultimate compound is pretty good stuff as a first step, if the paint is bad enough to merit it. In other words if the polish wont take it out try the compound on it. Its not like a gritty compound or anything so its nothing as aggressive as what i would think of a traditional compound to be. As i mentioned in my other post i first tried these on an older (91) white camaro i have. After the clay bar i did the whole car with ultimate compound. The ultimate compound will clean the paint up really nice and help to remove light scratches and make other deeper ones alot less apparent. After the compound the paint will look really good in the shade, but the spiderwebbing u see from the sun will still be there, and on darker cars it will leave it with swirls. Thats where the polish comes in and will clean most, if not all of that up. I spent a good bit of time on it with the polish but the results are well worth it. I get asked all the time if ive had that car painted even tho its the original paint over 20 years old. Granted it wasnt like horrendous before but if you shined a light on it the paint was so dull looking and swirls everywhere. This especially showed up at night under a street light. However now its butter smooth.

Another note on wolfgang is their exterior trim sealant is amazing as well in regards to how long it lasts compared to other like products i have tried. It is pretty expensive tho at $20 for a small bottle so kinda hard to swallow compared to the $5-6 spray most ppl are used to using. However if you have time to read a little bit, the review on this link TLC Auto Detail:Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant vs. Ultima Tire and Trim Guard - Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum is what sold me on biting the bullet to try it.

Should of left the cobalt in front of the ss on the trunk. imo it looks totally stupid with just the SS there especially in that location
