I stand corrected. They used the black grille from a base too. (weird how they got the bumper right though)

Yes all you need is those three parts.

And never bring your car there again. How they thought that ugly **** belonged on a supercharged SS, we'll never know.

Your parents shouldn't have to pay for the bodyshop's mistake. If you were at fault in the accident, the insurance company probably won't help though. If the other person was at fault you should be able to get it corrected.

If all else fails and your parents end up paying just throw a rock through the shop's front window late at night. They probably have insurance with at least a $500.00 deductable. So that way they end up spending about the same amount as your parents. (JK)

id call my insurance agent, if they did nothing for me id skip over them to their boss. go right up the chain, file complaint with the BBB, call the local news station, and put an article in the paper.

if all else fails, call the taliban

The first mistake was taking the car out of the shop.
I would raise hell about it and have them replace it, and make them pay me for a rental car or get me a car to drive around.
All bad shops will try to have you take the car out of the shop so they don't have to pay out of pocket for a new bumper.
You're lucky you didn't get a whole LT bumper on your car.

this. except through my dealings with the BBB, they're not much help either. same goes for consumer protection. they just send a letter to the place telling them XYZ and thats about it lol

I'm going to ignore the fact that your parent's are willing to pay for the repairs, but like it was previously stated, they shouldn't even have to consider that. It sounds like you got a pretty bad and irresponsible body shop. I'd raise hell and teach them a lesson. I also wouldn't have signed anything or accepted the car...or tried to fix it myself for that matter.

If you take the car, then you are pretty much stuck. I'd always say just leave the car there until you are 100% happy with it.

But you've got parents to pay to fix it for you, so you're good.

Lucky bastard

The body shop is a joke then. Talk to someone at your local GM dealership, get a quote and part numbers for your car. Then take that to the body shop and show them see, you messed up.

How are you still missing the point that they messed up. The body shop should at least be paying for the new repairs since its very clear that the "after" does not look like the "before" as it should.

This.

Even my grandma knows that grille didn't come standard on any Cobalts. It was an optional trim piece from the dealer when buying the car. My salesman tried talking me into it when they had the "My Chevy, My way" promotion.

step dad called body shop yesterday.. no answer... he said he'd call later that day (yesterday) or today.. I'm assuming he didn't call back yesterday, so we'll prolly just head to the dealer today when I get off school

just talked to step dad before I leave for school.. he said we're gonna take it to the dealer today.. explain everything.. ask them like "if we would have brought you the car, and you plugged in the VIN number to order new parts, what would have popped up".. and then kinda explain to them how I want the car/how it should have came.. and then see what we gotta do to get it there... whiiiiiiich we already established what I need in this thread, buuuut parents never trust "people on the internet"

and they did a **** job on cutting the crossbar out! bunch of frigging hacks man the dealers these days are plain retarded. You have guys in the aftermarket shops like me that can diagnose and fix issues better than they can for alot less money too. I would go up to the bodyshop manager and lay his ass out

(sidenote) i have a SC grille ill sell ya cheap

Its ok. when the dealer confirms we were right, maybe theyll change their views on "us"

you should bet your dad lunch, or a tank of gas that we are right. its a free win for you! lol
