And can anyone tell if that is the correct grille (or whatever you wanna call it) for the SS/SC?

like Sox said....I would speak with your insurance agent....what insurance do you have? Most have some kind of gaurantee or something that I think this would apply to. As odd as it sounds even if they just "googled" Cobalt SS and looked at images there would not be any like that....
I wouldn't even talk to the body shop - they are trying to excuse their mistake ~ I'd wager they had that part lieing around and wanted to bill it to a customer ~ and you just happened to be the poor sap...

complain to your agent that it was fixed wrong - they can make this better.

When this gets done, MAKE sure to have your step dad with you ~ and go over the car with a fine toothed comb ~ that sounds like they're pissed, and when places like this are pissed, that's when they do crappy work, or try to bone you another way.

That's what I was kinda thinking... I mean it's a bumper and grille... I'd rather him just paint it and give it all to me to put on..

my first concern would be sub-standard paint finish (eg: orangepeel)

my second concern would be installation issues

my third concern would be sabotage

oh wellllllllll.. I don't think he was mad at US (me and step dad).. but he was mad at the dealer.. he said he ordered the parts for my car from THAT dealer that I even went too.. so now he has to pay out of pocket for the right stuff.. sooo i'm not sure if he's "in to get me"

Ive worked at a paint/repair shop and stuff like this use to happen all the time. They will always re-do stuff they dont want people to talk bad about them, if they do they might not get as many customers.

Same here.. When my pap would paint a car, if the customer had an issue, we'd fix it. We might not have liked having to do things twice, but we'd rather it be right than have people tell their friends we did a bad job, especially when it's a little place in the middle of nowhere and it's your livelihood..

Glad to hear everything worked out

do you have any prior business with this shop or did you just go to a random local shop.

I always go to places where friends neighbors and family can vouch for quality work. i would never leave my car at some random shop.

Prolly the most popular body shop in my town... been in business for like 35 years.. everyone knows em.. always heard good stuff.. step dad recommended it and said he's taken all of his cars there with no issues.. I know my moms car was there not to long ago and came back fine

if you look closely that grille was on the 05 Concept car, and it was painted body color, i think it looks kinda cool. i was going to suggest painting it gloss black and see what it looks like, but it looks as though they are fixing it.
