Coming from the Civic scene to a Cobalt I was expecting that there were going to be less of a market. It would be the way if I chose any other car consider the Civic has probably the most demand for parts.

When I first got my civic one of the first things I wanted to do was get a lip, they made it look lower to the ground, added a bit of "flair", is tasteful, and different than any regular civic that was riding around. The only aftermarket Lip I see for the Cobalt LS/LT trim is the RKsport lip which is personally gaudy and over the top. You shouldnt have to add side skirts and a rear lip to make the front look even. Here are some examples of lips that were available on my body style of civic.

Is there just not a demand for something like this in the cobalt community? Those are all 96-98 civic's but all get a different look from the little spoiler. I personally think it sets the car off. I know you can say that there are not as many aftermarket companies that work with Cobalt's. You are true but a company like Wings West, JDP, and ABS Dynamics or so markets to many different cars and would listen if you were to email them. I for one would want something like this for the cobalt community. Maybe Im the only one but Im sick of looking at all the same cobalts. Either I switch to a 2.4 front bumper or keep the one I have. We have the tabs in the bumper for something like this, we just need a company to listen to us. I emailed Wings West maybe if more of you do they will listen?

 

i dont think theres any aftermarket lips that look flush with the car but thats just me, the only lip that come s to my mind is the stock ss/sc or tc front lip

 

if u want to be the 1st do some R&D time and get a nice subtle lip made

or run a SC or TC lip or the whole bumper

all of those civics have side skirts tho

but know what u mean a simple add on that doesnt take away from the over car without doing some ugly body it

 

All those civics have the stock side skirts, thats the way they come. All I would want is something similar to the civic SiR, but it could be colored and molded to fit our bumper.

 

sc or tc lip is gonna be your best bet boss

 

They wont fit on an LS/LT man. We dont really have anything decent looking. Im not looking to spend 200 for and unpainted SC/TC bumper and another 100 or so for a lip. I think if someone made it, there would be enough demand and it would sell. Hell I love the GM ground effects lip, but I dont want to spend 700 for a whole kit because you cant get it separate.

 

I've been wanting someone to do this also. I like the front lip, but I'm sure someone can make a nice one. Theres the Time Attack lip, and the KONI lip. Both are huge and ugly.

u can upgrade to a 2.4 SS bumper and the 2.0sc or tc lip will fit

honestly your best bet is going to be to make one out of fiberglass or carbon fiber.

 

that time attack lip is taking it to far but with the right set up i think it would look better, just my opinion

I think the Time Attack lip is pretty ugly. Though look at the whole car it was on. It was made to be functional on the track..Koni looks good though.

civic doesnt have the most demand for parts... youve got to expand your horizons. unless your thinking of body kits, then its definitely up there.

the cobalt comunity doesnt really look for body kits. most just do the ss kit and are done
