I would think it would also fix any interior rattles too so not only does it look nice, it would actually be functional

Someone try scheep skin

thank you. I'm definitely thinking of trying this. I've always been a big fan of how lambourghini and ferrari do their interiors with suede on the dash.

Great job.

Now do the Door leather, Steering wheel and middle saggy seat leather. I'd love to see a how-to on these items too.

Also, what color of suede did you use? Im color blind so Im not able to pin down the color 100%.

Thanks.

I don't know why we all didn't start doing this sooner! My Cobalt would have looked even better.

I looked online for Ultra-suede and couldn't find anyone easily that sells it, so I ended up ordering 2 yards of Black Microsuede. I hope it turns out nice :-)

I've never upholstered before, is this going to be really difficult to do?

neither have i, lol. if you have more fabric than you need i suggest practicing on something.

I thought about doing the pillars also. but don't forget that this stuff fades no matter what. So don't forget that when choosing what you want covered. The UV spray will only slow the process down.

What about going with a fabric like Alcantara? Will that fade less?

Yes, but Alcantara is like $100 a yard or something ridiculous and only like 2 companies stateside sell it. Its also thicker and harder to make follow complex parts.

A buddy of mine buys it for his interior shop in Georgia. He wraps parts for Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice, BMW, Subaru and Hondas. He must be getting a deal on the stuff because he is selling things like armrests wrapped for $95, when he normally charges $135 for stitched leather.

idk, im just going by what a local guy said. he refinished most of his interior with alcantara. He also had ultrasuede on his pillars and re-did it every other year.

and a yard or material covers a lot more than you might think. $100 in alcantara could cover a bunch of stuff.

Let us know if you ever do a how-to!

I found a link to a place that sells alcantara, it was mentioned on a bunch of car forums...
