hey there. i'm new to the forum and to the cobalt scene. i did have a 2002 mercury cougar w/ the 2.0L zetec with a bunch of mods but then the engine took a crap on me and it was more economical to trade it in then rebuild it. i had a hook up with a local chevy dealer and picked up a 2007 cobalt LT 4 door. i wanted an SS but being a college student and needing a 4 door, i didn't have the cash for one. plus i got a pretty good deal on the LT.

my questions are in regards to adding the SS body kit on to my LT. i've done research and looked through this forum about the kits. correct me if my info is wrong, i've found the the SC/TC/NA 2/4 door front bumpers are the same. the skirts i need off an SS sedan. the rear i coudln't find an answer to. i've found a guy that has a rear lip from an SS/SC coupe. will that fit on my LT bumper or do i need an SS bumper? also, are the SS2.4 and the SS/TC sedans rear bumpers the same?

i know up front that i am going to put an SS kit on my LT and have seen that many people here are bashing on the non-SS guys putting the SS kits on, so please keep those comments to youselves.

also, if anyone has any of those parts for sale, preferably in silver and fairly close to cincinnati, ohio shoot me a pm.

 

The sedan has an extended bumper that is a bit longer than the base sedan bumper. The SS/SC lip will fit on the sedan bumper with a bit of modification, several members have done it.

Front bumpers:

LS/LT = base bumper
2.4 SS/Sport = Sport bumper + provisions for lip
2.0 = Sport bumper + provision for lip+ the actual lip
