Don't know... I've never done it. But I have experience with electronics, custom fabrication, and sculpting/bondo work. So I figured I can do it. Depends on how confident you are in being able to mount and position the new units in the housing.

I do like the design of these new projectors better. They look great on the car. Just have to get the best of both worlds (form and function) and we'll be set.

I have to agree that they sure do look better on the car. Mine should be here early next week and I will be using Halogens instead of the HID's and see how much better/worse the cutoff is and if there is a lot of glare or not.

There should be a solid cut-off. Go look at my other thread on EcotecForum:

http://www.ecotecforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5749

You'll see my cut-off form the old projectors. That's how it SHOULD look.

i know what it should look like basically flat line with the right side higher.. i was just saying if you can make the old ones look nice with that type of cut off and deadzens don't look good maybe with a bit of work/ fennegling you can get the new ones better?

Take a look of Double LP's setup on page 18. his cut-off is almost perfect so what's up with yours. Do they still need adjusting?

Jaust asking because they are definatly different.

read my post again... i know the old ones can look perfect.. however dead zen's pics have alot of hot spots and glare.. and they're from further back and he has the old style projectors.. so if you can make it look perfect when his pic has so many similar issues who says you can't somehow fix the new ones..

My CCFL Halos took a full day. I also turned them on/off multiple times while adjusting the headlights. They were on for the most part of the day. As soon as I started the car for the 3rd time, the halos became bright as they can probably ever be... They are blinding now if you look into them lol.

I would all depend on your mechanical skill . A OEM type Xenon projector is most likely going to be longer than the aftermarket projector , and I will about garantee the OEM unit will not just bolt up in place of the aftermarket .

Theres no way to really know though without having the headlights apart . It may be worth the effort the to try swapping out the the aftermarket 2.5" lens for something like a Acura TSX 2.5" glass lens , and then the most important part ...fab your own sheilds . That would be the easiest thing to do 1st for minimal cost .

It sounds like too much work for me. As long as the light output is better then any halogen bulb il be happy. How is it on the road?

mine are a lot better then halogen...still waiting to put my HIDs in though

**Edit**
Mine are a lot better light output then the 1st style projectors, even though the cut-off isn't as nice, I can read road signs and they still have great color on the cut-off. We'll see how much better the output is with the HIDs

Yours ARE halogen. They will probably look better with standard H7 halogen bulbs... as that's what they were designed for. HID bulbs are longer and therefore change the pattern. That's why these look bad with HIDs.

But are there any hot spots or glare with the halogens? I really dont wanna stick wit regular bulbs but if thats wat it takes for a good cutoff il jus leave em alone.
