The dip holds up well, I am friends with the kid whose dad is the owner of plasti dip international and her 370z has been dipped for 2 years now and its holding strong. Her brother has his Polaris Predator dipped also and it is holding up just as well.

So I'm getting tired of constantly having cops stare at me for driving a red car, as well as I've always admired white cobalts, so next week I'll be dipping my whole car matte white, with black rims. Can't wait

My rims look cheap enough, white would make them look like crap I think :s

I've narrowed it down to orange or the way they are now

Im fairly new, but this image system is not my favorite...

Well I just bought an 05 SS/SC and didnt care for the rims, I did some research and heard of Plasti Dip. Plasti Dip sounded like a great idea and its cheap so I went with it. I also did the badges too. I didnt have to take off the tires it was extremely easy to do. Any questions about it let me know, theres a ton of information on dipyourcar.com

I posted this in a new thread, Im new.... Didnt see this was on page 4

Not too shabby for your first dip. Definitely a great product that lets you be creative on a budget.
I'll have to post some of my hood and trunk one of these days. Pretty much just covered up some black stripes.

I would just wrap it for CF look, do the rest in Plasti dip. Looks better wrapped in CF and not much more.
I just wrapped my hood, roof, trunk, mirrors, front cross bar, and door pillars with my buddy.

The rest is going back to firebelly orange plasti dip when I find a garage or we get some consistent good weather here in Oregon to do it outside.

Here are some pics... (and yes, I went wingless):

Serega12 - Is that the 3M dinoc vinyl?

I would think twice about going fire belly until DYC comes out with a fading solution...It will be faded bad within a few months...I am thinking of doing my Balt Sunset Orange..75/25 yellow/koi orange...

Thinking about going with something like this for my next big project.
Would use the dipyourcar gunmetal gray + 2 black tint bottles and then 2-3 coats of glossifier.

Thoughts?

It's Metro Restyling version of it... And what's this fading issue you're talking about? Haven't read about it yet. Time to Google it...

Cool, I was checking out the metro restyling stuff too...How hard was it to apply? On the dipyourcar forums there is alot of talk of the fluorescent colours fading badly within 3 months...A spray wax with uv protection will help but fading is inevitable...

That's what I was looking into myself for the last few hours... I have 2 gallons of white plasti dip for the base color to cover black and then some, and 2 gallons of firebelly orange for the actual color, but after seeing how bad the fade is I'm considering reversing the project and using orange for the base (to make plasti dip thicker) and dipping white over it. My only concern would be if white wouldn't cover orange all the way.

Ya I think the fire belly would be pretty hard to cover over...Maybe pick up one gallon of gunmetal for a base, then do 4-5 coats of white...You could use one of the gallons of fire belly for the wheels and emblems and maybe sell the other...
