I may have the colors wrong, can't remember exactly what the wire colors are. But I know that 2 of the pins need to be switched.

The two pins from the 3 pin blue connector. For anyone else with this problem just pull the orange and blue pin from the blue connector and switch them. Worked for me, thanks again Tommy

Yeah I've had the low beams hooked up for a while now just hadn't hooked up the high beam shutter control yet.
Now everything is hooked up and headlights are sealed for good.

first picture looks awesome! but i still cant get over how ugly that yellow phosphor coating is on the white XB rings.. wish there was a way around that but there isnt...

I just purchased parts for my upcoming set. Going to keep it OEM-ish (no painting). Just going to run the typical MH1 5000K 35w kit with no halos. saw a few issues with the XB's burning out already and I'm not a huge fan of CCFL's on the shrouds I was looking at (so halo-less it is)

Yeah. They take some time to getting used to, but I like em, they look different, and I think contrast the car kinda nice.

I was checkin out the xb rings as well, but didn't hear any stories of em burnin out early.. havent been payin much attention tho .... given the price, would it really be worht it at this point for a decent retro with some halos?

an Swtichbacks are cool.. I got mine from vLeds for cheaps... but the novelty wears off.. and as much as I don't see the front of my car, I do wonder how much better my front end would look with just an orange turn signal(LED) instead of the white/orange... ya know??

yeah, if you want to get the latest on most of the stuff going on its best to join hidplanet.com There have been 3 failures of rings that I have seen already, and fixing the failure means ripping apart your whole headlight housing again... which just sucks......... I'd still say CCFL's are the way to go. Inverters are cheap/easy to replace if they fail

and what exactly you trying to get at with the whole "would it really be worth it" part? not following what your asking?

I'm pretty sure everything wears off in time.. my last retros were perfectly functional, yet i sold them and feel like making new ones now with just a different paint scheme. If anyone tells you that a certain "look" doesnt get old at times then they are full of themselves. I just want to run switchbacks to have my fogs match my parking lights when cruising around dusk for that extra touch of awesome/different.

I get that whole thing, and I did/do like how the fogs matched with the CCFL's and switchbacks... my next set of headlights I make for myself(or my gurl ) will be nice

and as far 'would it be worth it', I mean, would it be worth the extra coin? I'm a member on HIDplanet, but I might've posted once or twice I stalk the forum more than anything.. as far as I'm concerned atthemoment, CCFL's are the way to go.. They look great, I've had 1 inverter fail on me in a bunch of sets, and I'm pretty sure it was my fault lol, and once they get goin, they're gold.. i DO like LeDs tho, for the practicality i guess.... If I can find a good LeD set that'll perform as well as the CCFL's do day in an day out, than I'll switch, no questions asked... Beit, I'm not bench testing these or anything but...

see I had 2 FULL PAIRS of inverters go out on my last set of CCFL's but then the 3rd set was fine for the remaining 1.5 years I owned the headlights.. luckily inverters are easy to replace though, LED halos would not be fun replacing at all, so until the LED problems are solved I'll continue using CCFL's if I ever need a halo for anything just for sheer convenience of repair

then kick in that the white LED's have that (imo) ugly yellow phosphor coating on them, and you have now created a situation for me where the LED halos aren't even considered a viable option..

thats just my .02 on them though..

Anyone know how much a set of retrofitted headlights such as Maven posted on page 12 post 293 would cost? I'm not a big fan of retrofit lights, but damn those are sexy and I kind of want a set identical.
