I'm not sure.. I know I wouldn't bother upgrading stock fogs.. any decent retrofit in the headlights will outshine what you can fit in your fogs anyways.. just my take on it though, it would be interesting to see someone try it

I hate those shrouds... They only work in Benz lights cuz of the shape of the front end.. but that's jus me..
I've seen a 'couple fog retrofits.. as far as the projector tho, I think Mike from BuyHiDs did his with the Minimorimotos... I saw it on HiDPlanet.. but it wasn't a huge improvement.. just a much sharper cut off line, an one of those things you can add to yer mod list

I think they fill out the reflector housing quite nicely once installed. I like them mainly for the coverage they give compared to most shrouds, but to each their own. I had GG2.0's on my last retro and was contemplating going with panamera's or orbit's but I liked the simple/clean/high coverage look these e46-r's had in the end of things. I'll be doing another retro for a buddy soon and he's going to run panamera's with halo behind them.. should be interesting to see his results

Hindsight I probably should've went with a high temp FLAT red, but to spend the money when I had high temp gloss right there was kinda mehh whatev's.. I'll be removing the paint on the top edge of the cutoff shield to make sure the possible buildup of paint on it is removed (just from a cutoff perfectionists point of view)
In all reality, most ppl paint it flat black to sharpen the cutoff even further (they paint the back side of the shield black too I believe). saying that painting the front red will cause it to "glare" more is kinda implying it "glares" from factory.. idk sometimes ppl on HIDplanet get way to picky on this whole cutoff/color thing imo. the light output will still be outstanding at night no matter how any shield is painted (assuming you leave the rest of projector factory)... time will tell how it looks in the end of things though, I'll keep it posted on here as I make progress

did some final alignement and mounting
note how bright these appear even with the sun still up! also, i'm pretty happy with how the red cutoff shield looks given these shots are without the housings fully assembled or shrouds installed

Thanks! I'm starting my very first retro and I'm definitely doing this now. And padlock yours are looking awesome so far. Without seeing your pics about painting the shield I probably would have never done the demon eye.

there are the "illegal" ways of doing a demon eye the LED way, but that just didnt seem attractive to me as either A) you have to worry about them being on constantly around cops B ) they are more work and wiring C) they are known to burn out if the LED gets to hot so reliability becomes a problem, and this actually happens quite often. so then all that work and they dont even light up anymore
Painting it fixed all these issues and looks less "cheesy" imo. I dont need red lights at night, just want the added touch during the day
why thank you epic troll sir
they should be totally completed this week. just waiting on getting my sidemarkers back from custom plating otherwise everything else is done, heck i even got the relay installed ahead of time waiting to go

it probably wouldnt appear as bright as the paint is.
if you look at how mine appear, they paint matches the car almost perfectly, then through the projector it appears darker, so a darker shade of the gold is what I'm guessing it would look like.
my buddy is contemplating doing yellow on his yellow ss/tc
hardest part is finding a high temp paint for all these custom colors. You will NEED high temp paint for this, then you need to cure them in the oven to avoid any kind of fumes that may be released during the curing process. you dont want the fumes in your sealed headlight and you really dont want the paint flaking off from not using high temp
