my housings are not black, for those who have done them have you sanded the housings before you painted them blak or just use primer and painted them?

You need to make sure the chrome is sanded or it won't stick. Had a few small in mine where I forgot to sand and had to redo them.

I used Krylon fusion paint for my housing. Absolutely no sanding at all, black has been holding up just fine.

Looks nice... It looks like you have three different shades of white on all three lights... Sometimes you gotta play around with different manufacturer's warm/cold white (5000K/6000K combos)... for example, DDM 5000K HID perfectly matches V-LEDs 6000K Switchbacks....

Great job BTW

Sanded mine with green sanding pad (don't remember what it's called, too late in the evening for me)... then sprayed with adhesion promoter, then black SEM trim paint, finished with 2K two part clear...

Not really sure. right now they are all black. i've now gone with an orange theme on the motor, and the chrome around the front bowtie is orange with a black emblem. so i may go with orange shrouds and maybe orange demon eyes. or just throw some orange LED Halos in the Gatling gun shrouds

This is what I found since my last post...

This is if you want to do them yourself:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...nstall-283888/

This is one guy that does them:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/appe...mplete-288376/

This is another:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/pict...thread-239376/

Hope this helps...

the easiest way to search for something is to go to google.com and type in "cobaltss.net: whatever" (replace "whatever" with the actual search item)...

Merry Christmas to me

I'm starting to make my own projectors, If all goes well, I'll be making them for members to buy.

^^good luck and enjoy 1lowLS, i feel your pain on the halos not matching i have halos on my g5's and on my foglights and they are both white, but two different intensities. still waiting on my switchbacks, which will more than likely not match as well.

Just a quick tip, to remove the chrome you can soak the pieces in bleach, you can see some pictures in my thread.

If you want a DIY for retrofits I made a thread on it: Cobalt SS Network - Powered by vBulletin[noob-guide-pics]-282150/

Edit: Links don't seem to be working... If you want to find my thread, go to the "How to Guide" section and type "retro" in "Search this Forum"
