I didn't like the grey plastic there either.

whats the turn around time for ppl who have done their retros on their own?

 

depends what you want done completely (as painting adds drying time).. I've done a few sets already so I'm faster than a "first timer" but for the average person give it anywhere from 4-7 hours of building labor time if you take it nice and easy

thanks! painting was a bitch since the housing were in rough condition when i got em. if curious, those are the G5 projectors from 3bSpec. the pnp was spot on, no effin around.

 

which kit did you use? i was thinking about getting the zzp HID conversion kit but had been planning on getting the H1 kit from thetretrofitsource.com that comes with the LED angel eyes. Just wanted to make sure the price for the TRFS.com makes up for the pain in the **** it will be if i have to afro-engineer a way to hook the angel eyes into the harness pre or post ballast.

pre or post ballasts? You shouldn't have to wire them in there, you're probably a lot better off tapping into the turn signal/parking light wires on the OEM harness attached to the back of the headlight assembly.

 

Those look clean, man. I like what you did with LED driving lights/strips in the fog light locations...

ugh. ordering retrofits for my jeep now. i swear i've caught the lighting bug more so than the performance bug for my vehicles.

thats definately not painted cutoff shields.. WAYYY too bright for that!

painted cutoff shields are much more suttle

 

so i definately want halos when i do/get my retros i'd say flat black paint with silver lips on the shrouds

 

i'm gonna be painting that part on my lights, i don't like that tan/plastic color showing up there, either. i'd say any exterior trim paint from vatozone should work. i barely prepped my grill and painted it with shiny black plastic paint and its been holding up fine and looking great

Bought two of these really expensive led strips and epoxied them in between the lines where fogs would be on a LS/SS, then dremeled a hole for the wires. Stupid c^nts at state inspection made me CUT THE WIRES to them because they said they are illegal if not factory installed even though they are 6000k white!!!!!! stupid dicks.
