Ya from my understanding, everything HID related wouldn't get shipped out until the 16th. I got a shipping number, but it doesn't show a location. It just says package has been shipped...

I ordered the 26th though.

Sigh. Well I just epoxied the broken post that holds the reflector... Hopefully it holds, I'll let it cure until sunday (My next day off). Then i'll find a way to actually HOLD the reflector bowl to the housing posts.

Damnit i hate not having a garage

So as long as I Epoxy the crap out of it, and let it cure for a few days it will be alright?

I'll just have to make sure my projectors are level first

yah, you will level them anyways.

tighten teh mounting screw on the back of the projector in the reflector bowl, then you put the in the car without the lenses, check the cutoff is level and put them together, you will be able to aim Vertically with the factory adjustment screws

Vertically is no problem, It's the horizontal alignment lol. I have MASSIVE OCD when it comes to cars, it has to be perfect.

Should I use blue thread locker on the projector locking ring?

i never used any thread locker. once you tighten it I cant see it going anywhere. its a aluminum nut on a harder metal thread. once its tight it shouldnt move much of anywhere

Alright, My bad for all the questions. It's my first set lol. Is it possible to "Over-tighten" that nut? Seeing as it's aluminum can i Strip the threads?

yea you gotta be kinda careful, but idk if you can over torque it. just make sure its nice and snug and it wont move. make sure you have the right size socket to tighten it on 27mm (i believe).

and no problems with the questions, thats what the forum is for lol

All these issues are making me doubt whether or not I can finish a set if I put a Sunday aside to do it haha. Was hoping to just retrofit the lights already on my car.

I don't have a socket that big, I just used channel locks, they work wonders

All i did was use enough force to tighten it enough that it stopped turning with out exhausting myself. That should hold it, Then i simply set the housing with the bowl in it on a level surface, and used a level to make sure the projector was mostly level. I can fine tune when it's in the car.

Don't do it, I have been at it for 3 days, Especially if your car is your DD. Mine isnt, and I have a spare set of lights. Get a spare set for yourself from the wreckers to use while your good ones are being worked on.

if you need a how-to to help you out heres the one i wrote up on another forum. for a first timer IF you didnt have to paint anything, I'd say a day is easily feasible... BUT if you want to paint anything I'd give yourself at least a weekend to allow proper drying time

Haha yeah that was the guide I was looking at actually . Found it on google a few weeks ago, definitely the best one! Yeah I did plan on painting unfortunately, I know someone who is very good with that sort of thing going to give me a hand with that part though. Nothing in your guide seems too terribly difficult as long as I don't mess something up.

When you paint your headlights, Dunk the chrome housing and the reflector bowl in Bleach! It will eat all the chrome off and you will be left with nothing but un-molested plastic, perfectly smooth for painting

Does anyone have pictures of a completely black housing with the turn signal part painted and showing how the light relfects? I have a feeling if I do my whole housing a black that it wont reflect light good enough and will look funny.

I have had all black retrofits, Even the side reflectors and the turn signal bowl, It doesn't reflect like THAT well, but if you throw an all amber bulb in there, it's noticable.

I just went through pretty much post here looking for some good pics and nothing looks decent with all black housings. They look clean and nice, but upon seeing the turn signal light on it looks dull. It could just be some pics or me being picky.

Padlock, I really enjoy your guide. I just wish you included how to line up the cut off line while the headlights are on the car disassembled.
