So do the majority of y'all guys retrofit your headlights more for the open availability of custom aesthetics or to actually improve output?

Reason I ask is because I went from these

To these, with a much better OEM projector and no auxiliary lighting and seem to enjoy them more lol

At first when I started building I did it for the fact that they looked cool. Once I started messing with different projectors I realized how well they actually helped with vision. Now I couldn't imagine driving a reflector bowl car ever again haha

I build them mainly for the output and functionality at night in the country, but its nice having the custom flare to them for appearance reasons.

I probably wont be building a set for my miata though for the reasons that it can't "outrun" its halogen flip-up headlights anyways. its too darn slow

Has anyone ever done a specific how to with parts listed?

I would love to try my hand at this since I have two sets of spare headlights; I guess I just havent really thought of or realized how exactly the projectors are attached to the housings. Also, the shrouds.

If you have any mechanical and finishing knowledge at all you should be able to do a retrofit. At least with the morimoto mini's, other projectors take more modifications

I see those use a D2S bulb. Are there harnesses to make this work with the 9007 set up on the car? Or does one have to make that too?

here's one I made for Mini H1's

How To: MiniH1 Retrofits

as said above, any other projectors require a lot more work and I wouldn't personally recommend any other projector but a MH1 to a first timer if your concerned about messing up

FYI, Mini H1 projectors use H1 bulbs (not D2S). given you order everything from TRS, get the 9007 harness and the wiring is pretty painless

Anyone have 6.0's? How much of an improvement are they? my H1's are like 5 years old or so, think they are 3.0's. Might be time for an upgrade. I want to do Pamamera shrouds with 120mm RGB multicolor's under them as well! should be crazy

I run 6.0s there awesome. Altho i added a bit more of a foreground limiter to them which when the new ones roll out they will be fixed.
