Paint & Body Work

you would be surprised on that. You could prolly wetsand that spot with some 800 grit and then up to 1500 and use some 3m polish. You dont want to wetsand to hard though because you dont want to remove the clear coat.

Just curious, but how much should I be paying to have a blue pearl sprayed over my entire car. I am getting this done, and I belive I got a really good deal but wanted to check with you. I will have the samples next week to see how the pearl looks over the black and to pick how many coats of it I want one two or three. Any advice you can give me would be apriciated.
By the way, how is Lewisville doing bro. Thats my home town, I lived there for 25 years before moving here 3 years ago. I miss all the pretty women for sure, there way to many crack heads and golddiggers here in Vegas.

About 4k honestly. Like I said though, take it to the place that you think will do the best job. Paint and body work is kind of like getting yor haircut. The cheapest place out there might make you look retarded, but the most expensive might be all hype.
It is a lot of work to paint an entire car properly. It also takes skilled technicians using quality materials to do an awesome job. That is why some shops charge more than others. In general, you get what you pay for when it comes to paint and body work.
I've now got a nice scratch on the bottom of my rear bumper (the body kit skirt thing on the SS/SC lol). Any idea how much it would be for someone to fix this scratch? It's scratched through to the black plastic and is about 8" long. Damn tall curbs.
hey i could prolly help you prep your fender, primer it and get it ready for paint. I do have a sata II paint gun for when i painted my sunfire corvette red in my garage. We could prep the parts and then pull them right off your car and as long as we could find a good deal on the paint i could shoot it and clear it without a problem. It just an idea if you dont want to pay a shop $500 or so for that damage or maybe even more.

Please explain how to prep a panel. Next please explain to this young man what kind of warranty your work comes with. What happens if the panel you paint starts flaking in a year. If you buy quality materials like Dupont, materials alone will come close to the cost of paying a professional to do it since you can only get the color in a minimum of a quart ( a bumper only requires about 5 ounces of color) unless you buy all the individual toners which will really cost you, sealer which only comes in a gallon, activator for the sealer which only comes in a quart, clear which only comes in a gallon, activator for the clear which only comes in a quart, and basemaker for the color which is only available in a gallon.
No offense, but I have yet to have one "do it yourselfer" come to the shop that everyhting properly so that all we had to do it paint it. In the end this gentleman will probably cost you more time and money than going to a professional to begin with. I'm not saying that you have to use me. Realistically you are too far for me to help you. But please take it to a professional. If paint and body work was that easy that everybody could do it, then there would be no shops.
