Painted panels/dash-How has yours held up over time?

Hey guys, looking to disesemble my car interior soon and pretty much redo everything, going to find a black carpet or dye mine, wrap door inserts and headliner, and attempt to spray the door panels and dash. My dash trim is already plastidipped black and some of the lower parts but where my knee hits it rubs off.

Anyways, ive search google, other forums and here. Seen multiple ways to paint everything. Im mainly just curious, to those who have painted door panels, which way did you do yours and how have they held up over time?

On my last car I use interior trim paint, it looked amazing but every where my feet touched getting out and where my hand touched the panel came up in less than 2 weeks, so im just hoping there is a good solution. And I have a base model with no power, so im not sure if they even made my panels in black from the factory.

So how are your painted interior pieces holding up? (not dash trim, stuff you actually touch)

Also, i wanted to paint the center console but I see no way that will hold with everything touching it.

I will have tax money soon so thats definitely possible, I was trying to do this on the cheap which probably isnt good in the long run, and it always seems people want top dollar for black trim pieces, nor do I ever see black no power 4 door panels for sale. Gunna have to look at some junkyards in the spring.

My biggest issue i had with going from stock grey/silver nickel to black was that all the pieces show dust 1000X worst. I keep a small microfiber rag in my glovebox and when i notice a little dust, i wipe it off. Other then that i have no issues, smears, etc. I did 2/3 coats flat black interior spray and 1/2 clear coats. Gonna do my headliner re-wrapped in suede as soon as my domelight/assembly comes in from CED. Oh and i am waiting to get a double din radio to replace the factory silver one, and black hvac off ebay for 30 bucks. Never touch the A-B-C pillars so they still looks nice, but a tan headliner does look really stupid with all black interior

I got all my black pieces from the same guy on here. He always has pieces and its not expensive. Most the pieces from a coupe fit in the sedan.

Im not worried about the small stuff, its the large section of the top of the dash, the door panels and majority of the center console.

Just got done painting mine, I used a vinyl spray paint and it turned out great. I sprayed about 2 coats on most of it but there is the center molded section where the radio sits that is next to impossible to get out so take note unless you plan on removing the entire dash it wont come out.

Is there any way you would be able to get the power pieces and just wire them into the fuse box, there should already be a slot for them right? That way you can have the black you want and upgrade at the same time.

scuff the part up WELL.
Plastic Adhesion primer.
Filler primer (many times to get a smooth finish)
2-3 coats of paint.
4-5 coats of clear give it a good protective layer.
