Painting Chrome???

I had a question about painting my door handles chrome on my HHR. Will the paint hold up on the plastic chrome? I want my handles and my mirrors painted black to match my car but i am being told the paint will not hold up. What do you guys think?

im guessing that "chrome" could be sanded right off

otherwise it more then likely wont work well

thats exactly what i was thinking...with some really fine grit sand paper as not to scratch the plastic to the point of being noticeable

I'd say sand, prime, paint and you should be good.

The chrome should scatch off with sandpaper or a scotch sanding pad...If not...just make sure you scuff up the chrome alot...then the paint will have something to hold to...Should be alright then
