well I've had mine off several times by installers, myself, and dealers, and they're starting to get a lil loose. Also, I noticed the last time I had them off there were 2 clips missing, which I imagine broke or fell off and were ignored.....love ya chevy dealers.... if I got new ones would that fix my issue?

i got mine from the dealership. couldnt find them at autozone exactly, and im buddies with the parts guy so he jsut stole them off spare warranty'd parts sitting in the parts department

im doing that this weekend as well, if i get my cobalt back by then, took a corner and slid
sideways from the lovely weather here. and bent both passenge side rims quite nicely on the
curb

there's 2 screws on the top. you also have to have the trim to the right and left of the steering wheel off.

you can use the how to on how to change the gauge cluster in order to see how to remove it.

Did It Today!!!!! It Turned "ok" Not Great But Not Bad For An Amatuer, Two Cans Of Spray Paint, And A Couple Of Hours.

I've been thinking about doing all the dash painting and what not, plus i'm about to re-wrap the interior.

and from what i've ever seen, wax & grease remover works well for cleaning the pieces. use the wax & grease after you've sanded the pieces down with either a scotch pad or some fine sandpaper, then wipe with a tack cloth to make sure all the dirt and dust is off of the pieces.
