painting intake?

i was thinking id like to paint my stock intake gloss black to match my cia charge piping. i really dont think i want to get an aftermarket intake considering how all of them **** up ur fuel trims. i think it would make under my hood look a bit better. has anyone done this? any tips?

yeah you just have to get the high temp paint and scuff it up pretty good with a scuff pad before you paint it.

not that they **** up the car, they just skew up ur fuel trims pretty badly so the car wont be running at peak performance basically.

should i use any sort of adhesion promoter or primer? or just scuff it up and go straight for the high temp paint?

yeah if you want to. i would use duplicolor everything. their automotive sandable primer will work fine. or their etching primer. the sandable primer is made for sanding if you had any drips. the etching primer will fill in all the imperfections. i use duplicolor for everything i paint and never had a problem with it. i think youll be happy with the end result.

Etching primer is used for bare metal only.
