painting a intake?

painting a intake?

i have a injen intake and i wanted to know how to paint it... i have scraches and my injen symbol came off ad i just wanted to clean it up and paint it

Get some 250 grit sandpaper and some primer, metal enamel paint, and some clear coat. Sand the intake to scuff it up pretty nicely then put a coat of primer on it. Let it dry, then scuff it up again, paint it with the enamel let it dry, scuff it up again and add a second coat, then clear coat it. If it will fit in your oven, then after the second coat before the clear coat, bake it at like 200-250 for about 10-15 minutes to harden the paint then clear coat and there you go. :-)

no it really doesn't have to be high temp paint considering it's not a high temp area....and if you want to make it really gleam and shine then get some 2000 grit and wet sand after you put down like 3 coats of clear coat and then polish it up with car wax or something like that....

make sure if you are using enamel paint to get enamel clear coat or it will ruin it...

hardware store, or automotive store. I think Home Depot or Lowe's carries all that stuff. Autozone or Advance should have the paint, Wally World has paint too...
