Painting Leather Seats

Does anyone know anything about painting (repainting) leather seats? From what I understand the color on the SS leather seats (in my case, yellow) is just leather paint. It's all chipped up on the front two seats and I was wondering about repainting them.

I've been looking around on the internet but I'm not sure if "refinishing leather seats" would be the same process for a painted seat. As I'm sure the higher end leather seats are probably dyed.

Well I was thinking of somehow stripping off the paint. Someone somewhere said a light fine grit sanding works

Don't use paint, use dye. SEM leather and vinyl dye works really well. You have to clean and prep it perfectly though
