Problems with HIDS

So my ddm raptor kit finally arrived, i installed them with a friend following mkulrey13 tutorial. I installed 8000k fogs and 6000k headlights, everything went fine and i did used a relay harness for the headlights.. i also pulled the DRL fuse.. now i have 2 problems

1] When i first turned them on i tested them out, a problem we noticed was 1 headlight or fog light not turning on when switching from highs to lows, sometimes it would be the left headlight then id turn them off and back on and it would be the right headlight.. this also happened with the fogs too..

2] My headlights and fog lights are both putting out a pure white without any hint of blue.. the 6000k headlight should have at least some hint of blue and the 8000k fogs i've seen few pictures of them on here seem decently blue but there not? ive let them run for over 5 minutes and it didnt change.. do hids need a break in period? maybe ddm sent me the wrong headlights? i checked the boxes they were correct...

thanks

thats why you dont buy from someone who isnt a supporting vendor....

chances are good that you have used one harness per side of vehicle...when it should be a high/lo harness for headlights and just a regular single harness for the fogs...

Many people here recommend ddm, and i have a friend with an SS and i bought the same kit as him and his works fine. And it is a high low relay harness, the blue connector had a high, low, and ground wires and yes i hooked them up right, used a multi meter on the stock connector to check the high and low beams

honestly if its the 35w kit try connecting them without the relay harness setup and see if it eliminates the issue. if it does then youve found your problem.

btw I have 2 ddm 35w kits both 6000k and theres a slight amount of blue but not much. But some of the color can come from the actual projectors themselves.

What the f*ck does being a supporting vendor have anything to with the quality of a kit? I hate the vendor ass kissing that goes on, seriously. Its ridiculous. If a vendor can explain fully WHY their kits are 4 times the price of another, and make sense, I'll gladly buy from them. Show me some components, crack open a ballast and show us the how the components are sealed and why they're superior, get them soaked. NOT JUST FRESHWATER EITHER! SALT WATER IS A POTENT ELECTROLYTE!-and its what the components will be challenged by the most.

Check your grounds (REDO THEM) and make sure your red wire is lined up with the + side of the ballast? Its easy to mistake since it can plug in either way. Check the clip position, it should be outside, not in.

The higher wattage kits wash out the color spectrum by a few hundred Ks. Your 6000K kit could be at about 5500K or less. This happens when you use a higher wattage ballast. After a while it may get better. Also, run your car. Don't just leave the ignition on and expect it to charge effectively.

Flip your bulb-to-ballast connector. Try that.

Thank you, i will check the clips on the ballast, and that also might be why its failing sometimes and not as blue, when i tested it i just had the ignition on, not the car

8000K is ideally blue, while being usable.

Yeah true but still for them both to be the same color isnt right, and ive seen other members 8000k fogs and they have a nice blue output

Just remember that projectors wash out the color quite a bit, plus the bulbs will get bluer with time. You combo once worn in should look like this

You can see how blue the light output of the 8000ks is by the color of the light on the ground, harder to tell by looking at the projector, mind you my 6000k low beam will have less color than yours since they're in projectors. Also these fog light bulbs are from DDM.

Mine started very white as well. They're definitely blue now. Let them age a bit.
The ones in my Duc were too white at first as well. Now they look exactly how the 6000K in the photo looks.
All that buyhids.com ass kissing is lame. A bixenon set from there is more than 3x what DDM charges. You're just wrecked with guilt.
