The projectors are legal, as well as the aftermarket HID kits.

*EDIT: Aftermarket HID kits ARE ILLEGAL. Sorry for my mistake*

Please show me a Department Of Transportation approval number on one of those HID kits. You will NEVER find one because they are not legal.

Cops usually won't bust your ***** with an aftermarket hid kit...but you sure as hell won't pass inspection.

I saw somewhere that technically most HID's are illegal because they can cause extreme road glare to on coming drivers. But no one enforces it.

Aftermarket HID kits are illegal because an HID capsule was designed to be used in an HID specific projector or reflector housing. HID kits allow people to put these HID capsules into HALOGEN projectors and housing which were not designed for HID. Also in most HID kits, you lose your Hi-beam function because there is no such thing as an HID Highbeam function on the bulb.

My projectors are misaimed a little bit so when I go on a rough road it looks like i'm flashing my high beams at people because of the cut off line

if you want to be practical about it, there is nothing any law enforcemant can use to measure ur bulbs, u will not get into any trouble for them.

The only way you will get a ticket for your bulbs is if its an accessory ticket for getting pulled over for something more serious - speeding, moving violations, etc. but i have never heard of somebody getting a ticket for thier headlights under any circumstance.

i live in NY, the NYPD are the most **** cops and everybody and their mother has HIDS on their cars. dont sweat it.

lets get a bit more specific.

They are LEGAL IF it is factory. But anything aftermarket = illegal.

There is such thing as a HID Hi-beam. They are called Bi-Xenon's. You can get them from Vision Bulbs.

If you saw what I wrote, I put that there was no highbeam function on the HID capsule. As for these "bi-xenon" plug and play kits, nobody has yet to show me a picture of the low beam and high beam against a wall because I know there is still rediculous amounts of glare.

I have Bi-xenon HIDs. REAL Bi-xenon. Hella Projectors FTW!

So then whats the difference in Bi-xenon HID's and Xenon HID's? Cause from what i have read the Bi-Xenon's are Hi/Low HID's.
