projector help

i dont know what projectors i have i think 2gen and they purple lens is there any way to get rid of the purple tint??

are you talking about the headlight lens or the bulb..?

the lens of the projector is tinted purple and i have 8k hids and they look like ****

this purple is only noticable at night with HIDs on right?


if so i have a similar issue.


If your talking about the actual lenses looking purple in daylight then someone played a very funny prank on you haha

sorry to hear... I have 8K HID's and the 1st gen halo's and have no problem... Mine looks light blueish cuz that's they color of my HID bulb... thought it might be the color of the HID bulb...

nah thats the way they come they looked purplish even when i had the stock h1 is it just a film or is the glass tinted

the higher u go the purple they get i see them all the time ppl have pink or purple and im just like wtf

ya its not the hid my friend has a ram that the same exact hids and with the stock reflector housing there deep blue, the glass lens of the projecter is a purple tint i was seeing if i could be removed with some chemical or razor

the hids are 8k so the should be blue but the projecters are purple glass lens so can i remove the purple tint or am i screwed

i remeber buying my headlight, and they gave me the option of a clear or purple lens, and i did clear/ but i have 3rd gens.

Advise was referring to the color of the projector lens, not the actual color of the HID bulb (when on). Also Advise's issue is noticable in the daylight while just looking at the projector lens, the HID is off. I have the same problem, unfortunately I have not found a way to correct this issue other than buying a new headlight assembly of trying to swap out the projector lens with one that is clear.

Typically the entire lense is made of purple-dyed glass...as in you would have to replace the lense. You could try looking for a replacement lense, but it'll be a game of guess and check to find one with the same focal length so it doesn't skew your cutoff too badly.

All-in-all, you'll end up spending more on lenses than buying a new set of headlights. If it bothers you that much, just buy a new set of lights and sell the old ones off.
