looks cool from above, I'm not a fan of the look on the deck itself though...but I like things to flow together

i see what ya mean. i tried finding shorter covers, but couldnt find anything that fit my interest.

if u really wanted that look without them extending on the top you can get a 1/8th fiberboard cut into an oval and cover it like how u have the grills then attach the grills to the bottom of the rear deck (might be a bitch) or to the speakers themselves.... just depends where u have the LED's

or ya could do what i initially suggested which would be the next step for the guy with pics..... as for a cool way to do the grill, why not "seal" the ovals edge but while doing that install some black tightly knit mesh. you'd end up with a flush setup. hell if you do the surrounding that i had suggested in my first reply, you could change the oval in the deck to a rectangle and use a matching stock grill from a car with a black interior. either choice would look clean and enhance things.
