Removing Paint from Factory Wheels

Alright, so when I purchased my car, the stock wheels had already been painted black. But the issue is, the paint is chipping off like there's no tomorrow. It frankly looks like crap. So I like the stock rims that the car has, and would like to remove the paint off of them. Has anyone done this in the past, and can you give me some pointers on it.

Going to need to sand them or get them blasted, i dont know if i would use any type of chemical peeler.
If you do sand them you wont have any of the original coating that was on the rims tho, just repaint them would be your best bet or get them powdered.

Powdered looks way better over paint. Looks more clean and has more of a perminate (spelling) finish. But that's just opinion.

More tham likely you would have to have them blasted. The original coating is pretty thick and a chemical peeler would have issues cutting through it can could make it look worse.

Gunmetal ss/sc wheels FTL.. Mine are like that too, the guy before me didn't care too much about the wheels I guess..

To answer your question, yes, they need to be media blasted. I'm getting mine done first thing in the spring.. Stock gunmetal color powdercoated.. MMMMMmmmmmm

go to autozone or advance auto parts and get a couple cans of aircraft stripper. i just did all 4 of my TC wheels. they had the original paint plus 3 layers of different spray paint before i started. it took a little bit of time but i got all the paint off
