sealing headlights part 2
well my right factory headlight isnt sealed right and is fogging up pretty bad so its a perfect excuse for me to paint the housings black! ive done it before with my ls and they looked good for a little bit and started to develop a thin layer of moisture so this time im out to do it RIGHT. so i need the truth on the best way to seal the headlights back up. should i remove all the factory sealant and then glob it on and let it ooze out a bit. or should i reuse the factory sealant? last time i tried scraping out the old stuff but quit 1/2 way through and used more sealant on top and it didnt work so well. what are your guys experiences?

get all the factory sealant off that you can, then follow it up with new sealant and i didnt hesitate to put more than i should just in case, after the lense is pressed back on then put it back it the oven for like 7-10 min and press em together again and they should be good dude.....thats what i did and mine havent fogged or built up moisture

wat he said^^^
If you want to, before you throe em back in the oven, heat em up a lil bit with a blowdryer jus to gets the stock glue warm an then add your own sealant on top of that. I used way more than i needed an jus trimmed up afterward..
Bake em
Take em out an presssssss em together an make sure you give em time to sit before you throw em back in

I used this stuff, they've been sealed since last august IIRC and they havent fogged or anything *knocks on wood* lol, its AWSOME stuff, I baked my lights at 215deg for like 15 mins or something and just peeled the lens off.

Go get 3m window weld. It's a ribbon strip adhesive which is basically the same thing as OEM. Nearly fill the adhesive tracks with this ribbon, press together, put in oven at 200*. Clamp together and let it sit. You should almost have adhesive oozing out of the track. Or search Nissan Butyl sealant. That's what Nisssan uses on their oem lights
