Seats Into Coupe

Hey guys.

Ok, not a huge fan of the standard Cobalt seats. I've got the 2 tone dark grey/black "sport" ones, and I hate the seat back design. I want something else.

1. Cobalt SS leathers. I know they're the same design, but I like the SS on the back. Direct bolt in, correct?

2. Cobalt SS Recaro's. I know they're expensive as hell, but direct bolt in? I'm not sure if the brackets are any different. I doubt it...

3. Ion Redline Recaro's. Not sure how swap friendly they are since it's an Ion. Just checking. I kinda like the blue.

4. Aftermarket racing seat. I know most of them are kinda shitty, but look better. My friend has them in his Civic coupe. Look real nice, but real hard. Just seeing how much it is for brackets to fit those seats into the coupe.

5. Lastly, will mostly any seat work if you use custom brackets? IE: RSX, Celica, etc seats? I LOVE that race seat style that the Celica and RSX seats offer..

Sorry if these are all reposts, but I don't have too much time to search every page.

I forgot... Will the rear seat from the s/c and/or the Ion Redline bolt directly in too? I'd figure the rear would...

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. The Ion seats are a direct swap . They have the same brackets . Not sure about the rears though . When I did have them in mine , I just had the fronts .

4. no clue

5. Anything is possible if you have the skill . Not all brakcets are swappable . In the case of the Cobalt , there are no brackets per sey . The slider front mount and the rear bracket are a part of the complete seat frame . Better be good with a welder

Yeah, man, those Redline Recaros are real nice! Probably a little cheaper than s/c one's tooooo...

I'd trying to shoot for getting a pair of those.

How much did you pay for yours? How muchdo they generally go for? How much for just the fronts, then the whole set (rear too)?

Thanks alot guys!

Go with the Recaro's, I would never give up my seats, but I don't know about the redline ones. I'm sure they are just as good if you can get some.

I paid $350 for the Redline Recaro's and I paid $550 for my current SS Recaro's . Price varies alot , anwhere from $400 on up to a G . I got both on ebay . The price on the Redline seats was kinda a fluke , the guy didnt realize he forgot to put a reserve price ....and the seats were brand new

Damn man, those were a buy!

Yeah, I just gotta get the money together and find a deal. None up there right now though...

I think I might also join the Redline forum and check there for Recaros.

Will the seatbelt buckle from the Cobalt work with the clip on the Recaro brackets?

BTW: Still have your Redline Recaros??

The seat buckle is the exact same . The ONLY thing different on the Redline seats is the blue mesh inserts , the ebony leather is same as the Cobalt . I did sell my seats about a year ago .

Check car-part.com . Its a national search engine for junkyards . I always found what I needed .

....one more thing , if you come across 2006 Redline seats , the mesh is grey . Its a different mesh than the SS cobalts , but looks somewhat similar .

I don't really care if the material is blue or grey. I have blue neons anyway.

Slowbalt, did you mean my stock SS cloth seats? The "sport cloth" ones?
