Ugh did the person stop? I have never actually heard of somebody scraping the other car when getting cut off. I hope you got that person!

you guys didn't exchange insurance information? You should have taken her information, and her insurance would have paid for it. I never let the other person go now, no matter what, and I ALWAYS call the poilice and get a police report to make sure if I was hit, that Im not found at fault. That, and so when the insurance company calls to get your story, and the other persons, there is a written document of what occured.

ANYWHO....

Thats not a real bad scrape, if you have a connection at a body shop, it shouldn't be too expensive. Paint supplies/materials are high as hell at the present time (and only going up), then you have labor, so it might run you a little more than $200 right now.

I wasn't aware that your mom had a previous accident, I hope shes ok. However, if the lady hit you, your insurance would not go up. You just have to call the police, and get a report, and if she is found at fault, your golden.

Also, the prices you quoted are right around where I expected them. I got hit in the front, and just did some minor damage to my front bumper, and the other womans insurane paid me $594 to get the front bumper repainted. (on my cavalier) Also, my G/F's aunt hit my right rear quarter on my cavalier and dented it, and did some minor paint damage, and her insurance company gave me a little over $600 to have it repaired. (dent man pulled the dents, buffed the paint out.)

Material costs, clear coat costs, and paint costs have risen sky-high. Add all that up, then tack on the whatever the shop rate is (usually $60-$70+$$$) by whatever hourage they charge you to do the job. If you can find someone to do it for less than $500 now-a-days, your lucky.
