Something I learned from painting my headlights

A couple weeks ago i painted my headlights. I was mostly following some of the how tos on the site with a bit of my own ideas. while I was scraping off all the old sealant, putting it in the oven to soften it up and then remove more I thought "if this gets sticky again when reheated why not reuse it?" The one was too far gone so I ended up using 3m strip caulk for it, but for the other one I just heated it up in the oven and put the lens back on using the original sealant. neither headlight leaks, there is no fogging and it was alot easier than trying to remove it all. just thought Id let everyone else know since removing all the old sealant is a PITA.

Yeah, one of the How To's describes to do it like that, but hell there are like 9 threads about how to paint your headlights.

Good thinking!
